DESCRIPTION

The Minstrel follows the progress of a Poetical Genius and admits both simplicity and magnificence of sound and of language. 

James Beattie was a Scottish poet, moralist and philosopher. He is remembered today for his poetry and for his opposition to slavery.

With six plate illustrations.

CONDITION

In full cloth binding. Externally, worn. The spine and boards are faded and worn and there are marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages with the odd scattered spot throughout.
