Chevrolet Impala, 1/43 scale die-cast model car. The 1959 and 1960 Chevy's succumbed to the giant fins of the era. They did it in 1957 and were VERY successful, but they backed off in 1958, making a more rounded and heavy looking car. The other GM brands did the same, except Cadillac.....But in 1959 and 1960, they were ALL back in the fin business. Chevy decided to go OUT instead of UP with their fins, as you see in this 1960 Impala. It was said that police departments using '59 and '60 Chevys experienced lift of the rear of the car when driving fast; somewhat like an airplane wing would do.
This model, by Brooklin, is a heavy, white metal version of the car. They do a good job with the relief of all the trim pieces but they rarely do any bright work on the trim. As such, I did some bare metal foiling on the trim and I painted parts of the interior to make it pop a little. I don't have the original box, but it will be carefully packaged for worldwide shipment. I'm asking less than the competition, but you decide.
