Reedy Pro Silicone Wire 12awg Black (1m)

The Reedy Pro Silicone Wire 12AWG (Part No: AS647) is a competition-grade power cable designed for high-current RC applications. Sold in 1-meter lengths, this black-jacketed wire is the gold standard for wiring sensored brushless motors, ESCs, and high-performance battery packs where minimizing internal resistance is the difference between winning and losing.

Key Features:

  • High-Strand Count: Engineered with hundreds of micro-gauge copper strands. This "high-flex" design provides a massive surface area for electrons to travel (the skin effect), reducing heat and resistance compared to standard industrial wire.
  • Ultra-Flexible Silicone Insulation: The outer jacket is made from a premium silicone compound that allows for extremely tight bends without kinking. This is essential for clean wiring jobs in cramped 1/10 scale buggy or touring car chassis.
  • High Thermal Resistance: The insulation is rated to withstand extreme temperatures, ensuring it won't melt or become brittle even during high-heat soldering or the intense thermal loads of modified-class racing.
  • Stealth Aesthetic: The matte black finish provides a professional, "factory" look to any electronics install, making it easy to color-coordinate with stealth-themed builds.

Soldering & Installation Tip:

Because 12AWG wire acts as a significant "heat sink," it can be tricky to solder to thick ESC posts. Pro-Tip: Use a high-wattage soldering iron (at least 60W–80W) with a wide chisel tip. Pre-tin both the wire and the terminal liberally. When joining them, "sandwich" the solder between the iron and the parts to ensure the heat transfers instantly, preventing the silicone jacket from shrinking back due to prolonged heating.

Tech Note: 12AWG is the "sweet spot" for most 1/10 scale racing. It offers significantly less resistance than 14AWG for punchier acceleration, but is much easier to route and lighter than bulky 10AWG wire.
