Listed for sale is a HP branded LSI 9207-8I which uses the LSI SAS2308 Chipset. This HBA card has been flashed to the latest P20 Firmware in IT mode so is perfect for ZFS based servers (TrueNAS, Unraid, Proxmox, ZFS on Linux etc) which require full control to the disks. This card is SAS2 speed but operated on the PCI-e 3.0 interface so will not bottleneck your SAS2 or SATA SSDs like those cards with the SAS2008 chipset operating on a PCI-e 2.0 interface. This card is also compatible with SAS and SATA HDD’s. Breakout cables allow 8 SSD’s or HDD’s to be connected directly, and many more if using an Expander card.

The HBA card has been flashed to the latest LSI/Avago IT (Initiator Target) firmware version P20 (specifically 20.00.07.00). It also includes the LSI/Avago MPTSAS2 BIOS ROM version 07.39.02.00 to allow booting from the card if required.

This card will fit servers and PC’s with a PCIE3.0 slot to get full bandwidth.

These are based on the LSI SAS2308 SAS controller chipset and support PCI-E 3.0 specifications with x8 lanes, SAS-2 speeds (6 Gbps), and ideally suited for using with SAS and SATA SSDs. These cards implement TRIM for SSD's to support the longevity of the drives, this is not the case for LSI SAS2008 controllers which do not support TRIM.
