Atlas HO Code 100 Mark IV TURNOUT -  Ideal for mainline use or for layouts that utilize longer rolling stock, these new Code 100 #8 turnouts continue Atlas' longstanding tradition of reliable performance.  These precisely engineered turnouts feature die-cast points, a die-cast frog that can be powered, nickel silver rail and black ties.  Standard Atlas switch machines (#52 - remote left, #53 - remote right)   or   (#62 - manual left, #63 - manual right) can be easily added using the snap-in connection.  Also, the Atlas under table switch machines (either #65 or #66) can be used to operate these switches.    All of the Atlas switch machine are available for sale at The Train Connection's eBay Store. 

What's the difference between Atlas HO code 100 & HO code 83 Track?  Literally, the code of a piece of track is the height of the rail in thousandths of an inch (meaning code 83 rail is .083" high; code 100 rail is .100" high).  The significant difference lies in the physical appearance of the two types of track.  Atlas Code 83 track has fine, brown ties and is more prototypical, whereas Code 100 has slightly thicker black ties and has been made for decades

The entire Atlas HO True-Track, Code 83 and Code 100 lines are available from The Train Connection, including switches, crossings, straight and radius pieces, allowing you to create any one of a number of interesting and exciting layouts, including every layout in Atlas' popular HO layout instruction books.  

Code 100 track can be easily used with Code 83 track, using the Atlas Transition Track Joiners (Atlas Item #551)  also available from The Train Connection.
