In 2020 I had this MacBook in my bag and I got caught in the rain with it. It still charges and works as expected. The feet have also peeled off but these can be replaced and are extremely cheap. I now own an M1 MacBook and have no need for this.

Today I visited the Apple Store in Covent Garden to get a quote on a repair. You can see the note provided to me by the Apple employee stating prices for repair. He opened the MacBook and told me there was no damage to the Logic Board and the sensors were still white, meaning they had not been triggered by any liquid. The repair would include a screen replacement and the battery replacement includes changing of the top keyboard and trackpad too. In essence, the logicboard, fan and SSD would be put into a complete new body.

As mentioned, apart from the issues with the screen (and the battery cycles being high) everything appears to work as expected.
