10 Vallisneria Torta (Twisted Vallis)

The plant features a light green color and a distinctive twisted leaves. It grows rapidly once it has adapted to its new environment, though acclimatization can take up to a month. During this time, you may not notice any growth. It's common for the plant to shed leaves when relocated to a new aquarium; these should be trimmed at the base with sharp scissors. Providing a high dose of liquid fertilizers and stronger lighting early on will help Vallisneria establish itself more quickly, reducing the risk of melting. After this adjustment period, the plant will begin to grow and send out underground shoots that will eventually become new seedlings. Over time, these daughter plants will develop their own root systems. Vallisneria is a heavy root feeder and should be planted deeply.

All species of Vallisneria do not tolerate liquid carbon, therefore we do not recommend adding these plants to any tank using liquid carbon.
