Over time the use of the armrest pad in your Mustang can cause the plastic of the center console to eventually crack or break, causing the armrest hinge to have nothing to attach to. In order to restore the functionality of the armrest pad, this solution-based kit was created to ensure even the most basic creature comforts can be utilized in your Fox Body Mustang. Made from durable aluminum brackets that have been pre-bent to the contours of the interior area of the center console, this reinforcement kit provides a more solid mounting solution for the armrest hinge than the failure-prone plastic area that was used from the factory. Included with the brackets are hinge retaining hardware, u-nuts, and the lower support hardware to properly secure all of the center console components together. Extend the service life of the factory center console in your 1979-1986 Fox Body Mustang for years to come by repairing a common issue with this center console armrest reinforcement kit.
