For sale a patented vintage Rodania dress watch strap

Condition: unused new old stock

Colour: Brown

Material: genuine Crocodile

Length: 185 mm excluding the buckle

Lug width: 17 mm

Buckle width: 14 mm

Thickness of the strap: 1 mm, and 1,6 mm to accommodate the spring bar.

This watch strap had a patent for its design being extra

thin at the edges.

This patent number 335886 was awarded on 31 January 1959.

The paten broadly covered: “The subject of the present invention is a strap for wristwatches, particularly ultra-thin watches. The strap according to the present invention has the particularity of presenting, both at the two longitudinal edges and at the extremity, a thickness that decreases to zero, in order to reduce the bulk and the danger of entanglement in clothing.”
