1865 Indian Head Penny
The Indian Head penny was introduced in 1859-1909. In 1864 the mint changed the composition to 95% Copper and 5% Tin with a reduced weight of 3.11 grams. James B. Longacre designed both the obverse and the reverse of this classic American coin.
