lights up blue when ON. Clear lever on side turns on. Base plug in and when you set the pot on the base it starts to heat. I tested it becaue i put some vinegar water in to clean. Works fine. Actually very Pretty
Heat max of 1.7L. Come to a boil relatively fast. It auto shut off for me. But I can not say whether or not it has a shut off feature.
