One of the last Bedford CA Van issues, here in Fire Dept. livery, and scarce with shaped wheels.

These were first issued with smooth wheels but during production the switch to more general release of the shaped variety was effected. Not the most popular of models, though, few would have been produced at the end of its time with these wheel types. The same applies to the other MkII CA models, the 414 Military Ambulance probably being the one most commonly found with them and the 412 St John's Ambulance the scarcest.

This example needs a ladder but good replacements for these are available as spares and sometimes I see originals for sale at modest prices too. If I find one I will add it in but for now it is for sale as it stands.

The paintwork is pretty good with just minor chips here and there which don't show up that much on this colour. The windows are nice and clean and free of scratches and the wheels and tyres all good and clean. The base is excellent. There is a feint hand-written M on a rear door which ought to come off with the right solvent and/or a bit of effort. The side transfers are complete and nice. Overall a valuable addition to any collection. It is part of my own collection and that explains the higher price as I am reluctant to sell until another one comes along.
