Packard V-12 Convertible, 1934, and Caribbean, 1953, 143 scale die-cast model cars. In the 1990's, Franklin Mint came out with the World's Great Classic Cars collection; mostly depression era cars. Although famous for their 1/24 scale models, these smaller "collector's scale" models were just as impressive, with superb details. This one, similar to one in a museum in Southern California, has opening front and rear doors and the hood comes off to reveal a detailed V-12 engine. Even the hood ornament is there, but you'll need a magnifying glass to appreciate it.....The literature and the original packaging is included. I didn't see another one on eBay, so maybe everyone who wants one has one. Let me know......
The Packard Caribbean, 1953, was part of Franklin Mint's Classic Cars of the 50's in the 1980's. This one, in a beautiful lilac finish, has opening doors and hood; to showcase the 327 V-8 engine. The details, especially the wire wheels, are impressive. Similar original packaging and literature is included.
Both models are displayed only, mint condition pieces, and they'll make a great "father/son" display.
