General Description:

Fagus sylvatica.  The heartwood is very pale pink-brown, on exposure changing to a richer brown.  Steaming heightens the pink-brown colour.  Beech has a straight grain, with notable rays and flecks, and a fine even texture. The timber is easy to work; it carves and turns well; also it can stain and polish to an excellent finish.

Uses :

Cabinetmaking, high-class joinery, furniture in particular chairmaking, shoe heels, sportsware, toys, modelmaking, musical instruments, turnery, carving and all manner of woodcrafts.

This timber can be delivered by carrier or collection is possible by arrangement from our works near Eccleshall, Stafford (approximately 9 miles from Junctions 14 or 15 of the M6).  The delivery shown is for mainland UK delivery (England, Wales and Scotland excluding highlands).  Payment should be via PayPal or cash on collection.
