This is a new, genuine 3 section Hirschmann mast, (telescope, teleskop) manufactured by Hirschmann in Germany, possibly part numbers 824295006 or 824295106, which is for the earlier Hirschmann AUTA 6000U-3 models of electric aerial, power antenna, and also, I believe, possibly suitable for the AUTA 6000U-750, and AUTA 6000U-752.

Its specification is:

Fully extended length; 87cm metric, or 34” imperial

Fully retracted length (bottom section) 31cm metric, or 12” imperial

Bottom section diameter of 7.8mm

Supplied complete with the white Nylon drive cable, which is circular and smooth, so without teeth or serrations, and 3mm in diameter, and the captive chrome plated steel retaining sleeve nut, with external thread, see illustration.

When fully extended the exposed length of drive cable is 94cm, or 37”

When fully retracted the exposed length of drive cable is 40cm, or 15 ¾”

The three-section mast has the Hirschmann stylised “h” logo emblem on the mast tip see illustration.

Fitting instructions are supplied and it can normally be in a few minutes from outside the car without dismantling the aerial or trim. Ideally a 12 and 13 mm open ended, or adjustable spanner is all that is required.

I believe this mast was listed for, or as suitable for classic car old-timer car models possibly the Mercedes 600 Pullman W100 limousine, Opel Rekord E, Commodore, Senator and Monza models current from around the 1970’s and early 1980’s. The Hirschmann “universal” AUTA 6000U-3, may have also been factory or retro fitted to other premium cars manufactured around the same period.

Please note this mast, with three telescopic sections, is not suitable for models manufactured with a four-section mast, as these had a larger bottom section diameter. Please see our other eBay listing for these.

Information is difficult to find from Hirschmann application catalogues from the period, so this information is given in good faith, but please compare all the data specification to your existing mast to confirm suitability.
