If you don't, and attempt to pay by clicking on the "pay now" button, ebay's system doesn't combine or discount the shipping amounts. It simply adds the shipping cost for each individual win together into one single over-inflated shipping amount.  Of course if everything you buy is free shipping, there's no need to wait.
