DESCRIPTION:
The PSA Population Report is an absolute clusterf*ck when it comes to Marca Stella Small Portrait Pele cards. PSA appears to have no clue and a large number of Marca Stella Small Portrait Pele's are mislabeled. I will try to explain.
What you see here is a 1960 Marca Stella Pele graded BVG 6 which is amazing. PSA is currently grading 1960 and 1962 Marca Stella Small Portrait Pele cards, but like I said many are mislabeled because PSA clearly does not know the difference. The 1960 Marca Stella Small Portrait Pele has NO PRINT MARK near pele's eye in the picture. The print mark was introduced in a later printing, presumably 1962. Some Italian collectors have gone as far as identifying the no print mark Pele as a 1960 Nannina issue rather than Marca Stella. They claim Marca Stella appropriated the image for their 1962 cards. Marca Stella has 3 different types of Pele Small Portrait cards. Type 1 looks like this but has the print mark by Pele's eye (very common). Type 2 has a different image of Pele with black background and white border(very rare). Type 3 is the same as Type 2 but has a yellow border(extremely rare). Type 3 is by far the rarest issue and PSA Population Report shows they have graded 1 copy (I assume they have not mislabled the yellow border ones but hard to really count on PSA for accuracy). I've included ungraded pictures of all of these small portrait Pele cards so you can see the differences. This card is likely the highest graded example of a REAL 1960 Marca Stella Pele! This card has near perfect centering and amazing eye appeal! Super Rare issue that belongs in a high end Pele collection. Obviously the only card I'm selling in this listing is the BVG 6 Pele.
I've been asked about shipping in the past so let me say this. I ship expensive cards with Registered Mail. This takes 10-14 days on average for delivery. It is by far the safest way to ship as the card is under lock and key the entire way to you, which is why it takes longer for delivery. Also, I do not make money on shipping. I charge enough to make sure the the package is shipped and fully insured based on actual weight and value. If there are any extra shipping charges left over, I always refund them to the buyer.
