Rhodochrosite – excellent and interesting example of an approx 6 x 4 x 1 cm plate of banded pink rhodochrosite that is covered with pink rhombic crystals as well as colorless terminated quartz crystals (the largest to about 1 cm tall) and is also speckled with minute pyrite or chalcopyrite crystals and what may be small aggregates of yellow rhombic siderite bundles. There is also what appears to be dark brown sphalerite on a couple of edges. A unique assemblage of minerals from the classic locality of Cavnic, Maramures County, Romania. fl-30.
