Buick convertibles, 1949 and 1955, diecast 1/43 scale cars. You will be buying both cars, as I'm slowly selling off my collection. Buick was just below Cadillac in GM's lineup......One of the best tag lines was; "Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick" ?.... These models, by New Ray, were meant to be toys or to be displayed with O gauge train layouts. They were sold in toy stores. However, they were able to be disassembled, so I went on to detail each one. The dark blue '49 Roadmaster got press on whitewalls, a tan paint job, and chrome detailing on the doors and interior. A special touch is the antenna, mounted on the center of the windshield frame. On the real car, a twist ball was inside, and by tuning it, swiveled the antenna to the windshield to protect it from car washes and low garage ceilings. The green '55 Century got a tan interior, press on whitewalls, and the antenna, mounted on the driver side front, which was the planned spot for many years. The packaging/display cases are original to the cars.
