Testing is preformed on a Console and with the Bliss-Box USB adapter on a PC.
If you are a picky person, I suggest the "like new" category, do to the subjective nature of people, its best to get a like new and be done with it. You will save money in the long run as returns cost money ;) You can ask for images and pick from a lineup.
The controller you receive will not be the item listed but is of the same coloring for it's category. All controllers in the main categories have the original NES color look with little or no plastic fading (see categories). There is one category reserved for faded controllers. Please ask all questions upfront as return shipping is easily the cost of the item. As such, and per this listing agreement, you must pay the return shipping. We will know if the board, chip, or other parts were swapped out. Every controller is thoroughly inspected and tested before shipping.
Category
1 (great) Nearly perfect, there will be a possible scuff or maybe a scratch but few if any and the color has not changed from the original OEM condition.
2 (good) Will have a few scuffs/scratches, but still like the original OEM coloring. Fading would be very minor.
3 (fair) Starting to show some fading. These may also have odor ( Controllers that have smoke smell are in the category) to them but work like new. This category can contain scratches or chips. The back of the controller is not rated in this category nor has the cable.
4 **Like new**
This one is for no marks other then very fine (visible only in the right light) if any at all, white color like the day they were released. We did not say they are new, they just look like it after 40 yeares. There can be marks but we reserver only the best for this catagory. Ask for images after the sale to be sure you are happy. If you buy without asking, you agree to our appraisal. This category also will guarantee the cable connector is not nicked up. The pictured controller is not the same one you will receive but it is an example of how it looks.
5 (Dirt Cheap)
This one is for crapping looking controllers in very good working condition. We understand some people just want to pay as little as possible. This will have scratches, marks, and coloring issues, and possible chips. There is a sample picture but the pictured controller is not the same one you will receive, just an example of how it looks. This is not a good category if you are the least bit worried about the appearance. The only guarantee in this category is the working condition.
Cables quality. - We do not rate the condition of the cables but they are all intact and have not been used as dog toys. They may be discolored or stiff but in all cases we replace cables where needed. The like new (4) option will guarantee the cable to be in good condition.

It is strongly suggested to ask for a line up and pick the controller you want on the Like New category. People are not all the same in what they call perfect. If you do not exerciser this option you get what we call like new. In our opinions this is a LIKE NEW controller. However, given the nature of human behavior that can not possibly be guaranteed, thus you wave the right to return based on appearance. If you are concerned just ask for a line up and pick the one you want. Of course we return anything that does not function right, though every controller is tested before shipped.
People have been caught swaping out boards, do not try it, we will know. Ebay will refund us.
