This is a beautiful antique French boxed set containing a leather bound Missel and a Mother of Pearl rosary in it's own leather pouch. The set would have been given as a gift to celebrate a first communion.

The Missel is bound in tactile leather in a lovely honey tone. The pages are beautifully illustrated and have gilded edges.

The Mother of Pearl rosary is held in a matching gold embossed leather pochette.

The Missel and pochette are held in a paper covered hinged presentation box with a clasp. The base of the box is covered in a beautiful yellow velvet and the underside of the lid is lined with yellow satin.

The Missel, pochette and rosary are all in good antique condition. The paper on the box has scuffed a little with the passage of time.

The box measures 17.5 cm (6.75 inches) square

A beautiful antique first communion gift to perhaps give again and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
