I am delighted to offer for sale this fabulous cake/dessert set by The Paragon China Company.

This beautiful set is decorated with tiny pink roses with loads of gilt decoration, with heavy floral interest, in the art nouveau manner. I suspect the decoration has been hand finished as there is a tiny enamelled centre to each of the roses. Each plate rim is decorated with dentils.

The set consists of a total of nine plates as follows:

8 x Dessert/side/tea plates - 7" wide

1 x Cake/serving plate - 10" x 9.25"

The set comes to you in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. These are pretty old, and therefore have minor marks from production, as well as very light usage marks, some of which look a very pale grey. The printed gilding decoration is in excellent condition - it has been produced in a two-tone manner and just oozes art nouveau. There is some light wear to the gilding on the edges - but only a little, especially considering the age.

The plates are marked with a green crown and the S C & Co intertwined name. shows 'The Paragon China' underneath. I believe this was used from 1903 onwards.

It is very expensive to send these in one parcel to overseas. They could be sent in two separate parcels but the cost would still be over £60 beyond Europe. However, I appreciate these are very special, so if anyone overseas wants to enquire with me, I'll investigate for them.
