I am delighted to offer for sale this lovely antique cup, which I believe is by Ridgway, circa 1815.

This very pretty cup is decoration to the inside with a Tree of Life design, in peach, showing white blossom and lots of lovely gilded foliage. It is beautiful and clean inside - very shiny. Print is in fabulous condition. The cup is further decorated with gilt foliage to the outside, with gilding on the rims, handle and another band. There is a very slight loss of gilding to the rim and handle. There is some loss to the gilded decoration to the outside and also to the two bands below the level of the handle. 

The cup is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs. There  is some crazing which can be seen on the bottom of the cup. The cup rocks very slightly when encouraged - this will have occurred during manufacture. I mention this for accuracy - this is indeed a very pretty cup, with a lot if life left in it - yet it's already around 200 years old!

I've seen this shape referred to as the London shape, but also Grecian. I am no expert - I'll let you decide.

Marked with the pattern reference 2/274 to the base. Measures 2.5" tall 2 and 7/8" wide at rim.
