Discover the German Tiger I Tank

The Tiger I was Germany’s first heavy tank of World War II, feared for its powerful 88mm gun and heavy armour. It became one of the most iconic tanks of the war, playing a decisive role in battles such as Kursk and Normandy, and earning a legendary reputation among both friend and foe.

This Buildarmy® kit recreates the Tiger I in 1:33 scale with 1,157 premium ABS bricks, measuring 19.8 cm in length, 11.3 cm in width, and 9.3 cm in height. The model includes a detailed interior with driver seats, transmission, and an engine compartment, as well as working suspension with the distinctive interleaved road wheel system. Balkenkreuz and tank number stickers are included for authentic detailing.

Rated 7/10 in difficulty, this set provides a moderately challenging build of around 3 hours. With its accurate design, modular open-up structure, and historical significance, the Tiger I is both an engaging project and a striking centrepiece for any WWII armour collection.

Introduced in 1942, the Tiger I was Germany’s first heavy tank and quickly gained a fearsome reputation on the battlefield.   Armed with the powerful 88mm KwK 36 gun and protected by up to 120mm of armour, it outclassed most Allied tanks of its time.  The Tiger I saw action on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, including at Kursk and Normandy, and became one of the most recognisable symbols of German armoured power in World War II.
