Here is the leather Easton Press edition of Sea of Thunder: Four Commanders in the Last Great Naval Campaign 1941-45 by Evan Thomas.  It is part of the Easton Press Library of Military History.

This fascinating book describes the Pacific naval action during WWII. It focuses on the biggest naval battle, the Battle of Leyte Gulf, from the eyes of both sides of the conflict—from two American and two Japanese commanders.

Not only was the Battle of Leyte Gulf the biggest naval battle of the war, many historians also call it the largest naval battle in history as it involved 200,000 participants. It marked the first organized kamikaze actions by the Japanese as they desperately fought to gain ground by whatever means possible.

Goodreads reviews:

“Brilliant recounting of naval action in the Pacific, 1941-45. The careers and decisions are told from the perspective of four commanders, two American and two Japanese.”

“Considering the perspective of both American and Japanese generals, their naval strategies/decisions take on an intense, emotional significance for the reader.”

“Excellent account of the naval war in the Pacific with special focus on the Battle of Leyte Gulf. The author skillfully portrays the personalities and cultures of the two most important American commanders and their Japanese counterparts.”

Highlights of Easton Press quality:

**top quality leather
**22kt gold stamped designs on covers
**archival paper to last for generations
**gold gilt page ends (all edges gilt/AEG)
**ribbed spine like books of old
**pages are sewn to binding, not glued, for durability

Condition: Good.
There are spots to the gilt edge (see closeup photo), and there is warping of the book covers (see last photo). The warping may have occurred with faulty bookbinding (unlikely due to Easton Press reputation for excellence); more likely the book was stored in extreme heat, not realizing the potential damage.

The price has been reduced due to the warping.

Otherwise the book is in very good condition. The rest of the leather is perfect. Pages are tightly bound to the spine. There is no attached owner bookplate.

A wonderful WWII collector's book!
