This kit is a great solution to keep the top half of your BMW N42 or N46 oil leak free!
Keeping oil inside your car's engine is extremely important for proper lubrication and performance. After years of heating up, cooling down and exposure to oil the structure of the gaskets can break down, fail, and begin to leak. The rocker cover (also known as the valve cover or tappet cover) has an important role of protecting the camshaft, valve lifters and other components in the cylinder head.
The spark plug tube O-rings also known as the spark plug pipe O-rings, are the seals that stops oil leaking into the area where the spark plugs, and ignition coils are situated. The ignition coil goes through the tube from the top of the rocker cover. Recommended to be checked for damage whenever replacing spark plugs, ignition coils, rock covers or rocker cover gaskets.
The VANOS solenoids are located on the front of the engine and can be a common location for oil to leak. Replacing yours will eliminate the risk of engine oil loss.
The two oil filter housing gaskets seal the engine oil cooler to the oil filter housing and the oil filter housing to the engine block. They are quite common to fail and leak resulting in an annoying oil leak. Keeping oil inside your engine is extremely important for proper lubrication and performance.
