Did you know?
- Tyrannosaurus rex lived in the Cretaceous period in North America. Its fossils have been found in places like Montana and Utah. A carnivore with a ferocious bite, this well known dinosaur weighed around 16,000 pounds (7225 kg)!
- The armoured Stegosaurus lived in the late Jurassic period across Western North America. A herbivore, the bony plates along its back were embedded in the skin and stood vertically. Even though large and slow moving its powerful hindquarters allowed it to move its spiked tail nimbly!
- The 3-horned dinosaur Triceratops horridus lived in the Late Cretaceous period across what is now Western North America. A herbivore, the Triceratops is one of the largest and most formidable land animals in history. It used its horns to fend off T Rex attacks and its horny beak and shearing teeth to forage and tear tough palm fronds.
