The bi-metal heat break is the next evolution of the all-metal heat break

The 450-rated Bi-Metal Heatbreak melts filament faster and conducts 60% less heat than standard  all metal heatbreaks

Unlike most materials, plastics dont have a clean transition from solid to liquid during melting. As filament moves through a hotend, it heats up and reaches the materials glass transition temperature, entering a semi-solid, semi-liquid, plastic state.

While in this state, the filament can cause undesirable 3D printing effects like reduction in resolution, blobbing, and jamming. An efficient heat break reduces the time when the plastic is at its transition state improving 3D printer performance.

When installing the new bi-metal heat break, make sure you dont over tighten it. The inner tube is thin. If too much pressure is added, the tube can be bent, and the bi-metal heat break will need to be replaced.
