Oxalis Triangularis, Shamrock, Purple Shamrock, Love Plant.

Please note: The plant will be posted with a bit of moist soil wrapped around the roots (it doesn’t come in a pot). The package will fit through a standard UK letter box.

Oxalis Triangularis with trifoliate variegated leaves. This rare house plant is fast growing and flowers in weeks.

Native to several countries in southern South America, Oxalis Triangularis has a delicate dark purple and light pink centre. It’s a beautiful plant that can be grown Indoors or outdoors. It produces light pink flowers in summer. When grown outside, it will enter a dormancy period over winter but grows back when conditions are right. It however stays leafy indoors all year round.

Leaves may break off, but the bulb will quickly grow new ones. Broken leaves can also be put in water and roots will soon develop and you will have a new plant.

Depending on the weather at time of purchase, thus if the weather is cold, the oxalis stems may be weak/ limp. This is normal as the oxalis goes into hibernation with cold weather. If this happens, please plant the bulbs in a warm area and you will soon have new fresh growth.

Oxalis are photophilic, which means that they open and close their leaves in response to natural light.

Light: Oxalis triangularis is best kept in a sunny spot in winter and Indirect sunlight in summer.

Watering: Soil should remain lightly moist during times of growth.

Humidity: It does ok in average home humidity.
