This is the first edition of Carl Sandburg's masterpiece, his wonderful biography of Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War in four volumes.  The four- volume history won the Pulitzer Prize and is a classic of history, and the definitive biography of Lincoln.  The books are good to very good condition; the spines are tight although the spine of volume one is beginning to crack in the front, and the covers are clean with only some minor scuffing and/or bumping.  The pages are clear and sharp.  There are no dust jackets.   See photographs.

This is a wonderful historical set of books, and it would be an excellent addition to anyone's library.

The books are about 7" x 9-1/2" x 2" each, and about 11-12 lbs.+/- with packaging.
