DESCRIPTION

Five volumes of six.

Herman Wildenvey was one foremost prominent Norwegian poets of the twentieth century. He was a prolific author of his own poetry and also noted for translating the works of Shakespeare and Hemingway into Norwegian.

With a portrait frontispiece.

With the bookplate of Nancy Hostrup, the wife of Jens Christian Hostrup II, a doctor, screenplay writer and actor who was an active figure in the Danish resistance, and friend to American science fiction writer Paol Anderson.


CONDITION

In half calf bindings. Externally, generally smart with rubbing to the extremities and heavier rubbing to the spine. Rear hinge slightly strained to volume V. Bookplate of Nancy Hostrup to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean with occasional spots. Ink annotation to the portrait frontispiece.
