This is a fabulous antique French wooden cabinet with textile covered drawers  dating from about 1900. It is a rare find and would certainly add an authentic finishing touch to a vintage boudoir.

The cabinet is painted light cream. The top shelf has a pierced crest. There are two angled side strutts and 4 little finials finish off the vertical supports. There are 3 further shelves to take the boudoir box drawers. The back and sides are open.

The drawers are made of lightweight wood and are covered in a gorgeous pink and green floral cotton textile now faded and timeworn to perfection. The top drawer is labelled 'VOILETTES'. Each drawer has a cute pull.

The box drawers lift out of the cabinet. The lid of each is hinged about one third across the top and the whole of the front of the drawer drops down to reveal an interior lined with the cotton textile.

The cabinet is sturdy. We have left it as we found it beautifully distressed with the passage of time. The top drawer has had some worm but this has now long gone. All of the drawers do show characteristics of age (please see photos) but they remain beautiful and are very useable.

The cabinet measures :- 48 cm (18.9 inches) high to the top of the crest x 29 cm (11.5 inches) wide x 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) deep.

Each boudoir box measures :- 24 cm (9.4 inches) wide x 15.5 cm (6.1 inches) deep x 8 cm (3.25 inches) high.
