Description:

Butt-joint clamps are best when cosmetic appearance is important, as well as serviceability of the joint.  This would include exhaust tips, mufflers, catback systems, racing exhaust, and show cars.  This type of clamp is much easier to separate should a component ever need to be removed or replaced, so if disassembly is important, this clamp would be preferred over band or saddle clamps.  This type of clamp does require that the sections being clamped have sufficient lengths of straight pipe leading into it.
