IMPORTANT NOTICE– For applications where replacing 40mm Bing Carbs which have a 52mm outlet spigot diameter at the motor end, we fit a larger 52mm inlet sleeve & 55mm outlet so as to properly match your OEM rubber boot. With all others do confirm that your carb dimensions match (+ – mm) as per the picture
34 Bing A= 44mm B= 110mm D= 50mm
40 Bing A= 52mm B= 110mm D= 55mm (some early ones differ at 50mm where please contact us if yours is 50).
Going even faster has never been so easy when upgrading to a Mikuni TM Flatslide, say goodbye to worn old flooding stock carbs, hard starting, irregular idle, hesitations, and flatspots. The Dual Mikuni TM38 carburetor kit is easily fitted to your BMW R100 and the improvement is instant. The TM’s will deliver a more crisper and quicker acceleration through the mid-range than the VM round slides which themselves are also great improvement over stock. This kit includes two silver anodized sleeves fitted to the inlet end of the Mikuni TM38 to match the original Bing carburetor 50mm dimensions. On the R100’s that came fitted with the 40 Bings we also fit sleeves to the carb outlets (43mm as they are) for size matching. There is also a pair of inner throttle cable wires provided to replace the existing inner cable where you are required to solder the provided nipples to the base of the new wire.
With this size carbs do be mindful that the earlier OEM Round type air filter in the stock air box often will not keep up with the air flow requirement and increased power these carbs generate where if at all concerned do request that we supply the inlet sleeves loose so you can do some air box pipe on and off test runs, where you may have to consider using PODs if unable to get a sufficient air supply. Also do check that your throttle mechanism is able to activate full wide open throttle on this carb set. Synchronizing the carbs to match each other at the point where the slides exit the carb throat will confirm this but do remember they do need to lift that bit more again for the back of the slide to also clear the port.
The most commonly suited jets for Australian fuel and conditions have been fitted as well as spares for fine tuning the top end at WOT. Climate, altitude and fuel density from different octane fuels all have varying effects on final fine tuning as does cam, exhaust and cylinder head porting etc. Please do contact us if you believe further fine tuning is required and we can guide you through the process. Once tuned a VM Mikuni will not go out of tune for many years.
At Mikunioz, for the last 30 plus years, we have been constantly checking and where necessary upgrading our jetting specs as fuel quality changes. Regular fuel in the USA is 85 octane or 91 in their premium brands which have numerous additives and blends added (basically smells and drys like wood varnish) which results in a totally different jetting spec and product performance. This carb as supplied from the factory will never work on this bike and requires a total re-jet as supplied loose with your carbs or done here before shipping.
You will instantly experience better throttle response, improved acceleration, increased horsepower and torque.

Warranty or Return period is 7 days only. We do accept eBay’s 30 day return
policy but please read all the information below carefully before making your
purchase.

Here at Mikuni OZ we do offer refunds and returns but
there are strict procedures for this.
All carburetor kits that need to be returned for
refund or exchange MUST be returned in the exact same way they left the
warehouse. All Carburetors & Carby kits that have been opened WILL BE
thoroughly stripped and inspected, in the case of any fuel being added, greases
or lubricants, tampering or any form of damage to the carburetor there will be ABSOLUTELY
NO refund and the kit will be returned to you at your expense! THIS IS FINAL
AND NO OTHER EXCEPTIONS!
Absolutely all returns for any reason will be charged
a 10% restocking fee whether it has been opened or not before it was returned
and the freight for us to send you the kit originally will be deducted also
before your refund is issued.
