Sterling silver pair cased Verge Fusee watch made by John Tomlinson Horncastle
Both cases are in excellent condition, all covers close nice and tight. No dings or dents
Both cases have matching hallmarks from Birmingham, year letter Q what stands for 1839
Hand painted enamel is in near mint condition with black roman numerals
Fusee Verge movement with pierced and engraved balance bridge is signed John Tomilinson Horncastle 164
Movement was cleaned in 2014 and has been kept in a case ever since. At the time of cleaning it was running with great motion, strong tick in all positions. Kept good time.
John Tomlinson Horncastle was a well known watchmaker from 1835-1861 and is listed on page 167 the book Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World.
Overall this is a gorgeous watch.
