CD compartment has been cleaned with an optic lense cleaner. Lense should be cleaned regularly. The tape heads were cleaned with a soft microfiber towel and isopropyl alcohol.  Do this tape head cleaning methos periodically.

Panasonic's powerful SC-PM12 provides the convenience of a five-CD changer system with a single-well cassette deck, a digital AM/FM tuner, two-way stereo speakers, and 45 watts per channel (at 1 kHz into 6 ohms with 10 percent total harmonic distortion)--all in one compact system.

The center unit houses the amplifier, the space-saving magazine-style CD loader, and a 3-D space equalizer with a jog dial and six different preset EQ curves (disco, hall, live, heavy, clear, soft). The CD player offers program/repeat/random play modes and direct play, so you can select the disc of your choice at the push of a button. Continuous playback ensures hours of uninterrupted music.

The feather-touch cassette deck features auto reverse and tape program sensor (music search) with the ability to perform timed recording. The digital-synthesizer tuner offers 24-station preset memory (12 AM, 12 FM). The system also features a backlit LCD and a handy remote control for easy operation from your favorite listening position.
