The portable radio receiver "VEF-317" has been produced by the Riga PA "VEF" since 1986. The radio receiver of the 3rd complexity group ''VEF-317'' has 6 bands. It differs from the VEF 214 receiver in the absence of the VHF range. For reception in the LW and MW bands, the radio receiver has a magnetic antenna, and in the SW bands it has a telescopic antenna. Reception can also be carried out using an external antenna. There is a jack for connecting a headphone and a unified connector for a tape recorder. Receiving wave ranges LW, MW, SW-1 25 m, SW-2 31 m, SW-3 41 m and SW-4 49 m. Sensitivity in the LW ranges 1.5 mV/m, MW 0.7 mV/m, HSW0.3 mV/m. Two-signal adjacent channel selectivity 26 dB. Reproducible frequency band 150...4000 Hz. Rated output power 250 mW. The receiver is powered from the network or from 6 elements 373. Current consumption in the absence of a signal is 14 mA, at 150 mW output power 35...50 mA. A set of batteries at an average listening volume lasts for 100 hours of operation. Receiver dimensions 297x247x80 mm. Weight without batteries 2.2 kg. The receiver was produced in a wide range of colors of the case, with a 90-degree folding and retractable elbows or a telescopic antenna extending only upwards. An export version of the receiver was also produced, with the same name, but with different frequencies of the SW subbands.
