ANTIQUE OVAL SHAPED SMALL COIN BANK BOX ADVERTISING SAVINGS DEPARTMENT CITIZENS BANKING COMPANY OF OIL CITY, PENNSYLVANIA WITH COPPER STREAKS RUNNING THROUGHOUT
This is for an antique coin bank box that is made of steel with copper colored streaks running throughout it. This oval shaped bank-issued box has a handle on the top. The bank has a metal tag on the front that reads, "Savings Department Citizens Banking Co. Oil City, PA.". Top of the bank shows the manufacturer name, the C.O. Burns Company out of New York and the number "1972" is imprinted in it as well. It also has the patent number there which dates this to 1904. The sides of the bank have a place to put bills and coins in it. It measures about 3 and 1/8" tall by just over 4 and 1/4" wide by 2 and 1/4" thick. The lock is open on the bottom of the bank but we don't have the key to lock it again. The banks used to hold these. Bank is in pretty good condition overall for it's age with some natural wear present. Please see pictures for design and condition detail. Wonderful old steel bank box from Pennsylvania would be a great find for your collection. Don't miss it.
