This PINK Astronaut Suit is BASED ON** the design of the ORANGE suit, technically known as ACES (Advanced Crew Escape Suit) but affectionately known as the "Pumpkin" suit, and is a full pressure suit worn during launch and re-entry during the Space Shuttle program, and is a direct descendant of U.S.A.F high-altitude pressure suits dating back much earlier.

**ASTRONOMY TO GO is a non-profit education and outreach organization so, for us, it is ALL about the SCIENCE and getting it right!  As far as we know (and we DO have friends at NASA who would have told us otherwise), there has NEVER been a PINK Astronaut Flight Suit, nor has there ever even been any consideration in creating one.  HOWEVER, if we can do ANYTHING to encourage young girls and women to get excited about NASA and the space program, or to pursue a future in science, especially Space Science, Astronomy, and/or any area of the Space program, then we are 100% in favor of bending our own rules to make it happen.  So for any Space aficionados or purists who might object to a PINK Astronaut Suit, all we can say is SUCK IT UP!  SCIENCE NEEDS MORE WOMEN!!! 

PLEASE NOTE: When these are sent to us from AEROMAX, they ALL come with a plastic hanger.  HOWEVER, the hanger can make these a royal pain in the a#$ to pack and ship, and adds to the shipping weight, bumping it up to the next price level.  The hanger is NOT anything fancy and NOT worth $1.00, so if you don't need or want the included hangar, we can save you that dollar!  Yes, we DO recycle plastic here!
