DESCRIPTION

Written by poet and travel writer Robert Anderton Naylor. He formerly resided at Cuerdan Hall in Thelwall.

This work narrates the author's travels to the United States to take part in the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. He travelled there as a member of The Arts Society, along with other members. While in the U.S., Naylor visited New York, Washington D.C., Niagara Falls, and Montreal in addition to Chicago. 

The narration is told through a mixture of prose and poetry.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with minor shelf wear. Some rubbing to the joint and some bumping to the head and tail of spine. The odd mark to the rear board. Internally, front hinge tender but remaining firm. Book is firmly bound. A few handling marks to the pages, but otherwise they are generally bright and clean.
