This 56-page catalog accompanies my exhibition at the San Francisco Textile and Tribal Art show at Fort Mason Center, February 2016. I illustrate 24 excellent objects from New Guinea, Fiji and Vanuatu. There are a number of superb pre-contact figures from the Upper Karawari River region, an important large and ancient Porapora figure, an excellent New Ireland tatanua mask and what I consider the world’s best Southern Highlands shield.
