AS RARE AS THEY COME......

Audemars Piguet once again stuns the world of horology with its Deadbeat Seconds & Escapement Grand Complication.

The Millenary Manual Winding Movement with AP Escapement and "Deadbeat Seconds" (or "Jump Seconds)- a remarkable achievement for a mechanical wrist watch.

This watch features:

- Silvered textured guilloche dial.

- Blued applied Roman numeral hour markers.

- Blued skeleton hands.

- Small seconds sub-dial at the 7 o'clock. This small seconds hand features the "Dead Seconds" complication.

- The Dead Seconds Complication: With regular mechanical watch the beats per hour (vph) interpret into the frequency the seconds hand advances - giving the seconds hand the perception of smooth motion AKA "the sweep seconds hand". With the dead seconds complication the seconds hand jump every second. This complication is achieved through am additional going-train driven by a second barrel. AP devised a system with two

- superimposed seconds-wheels driven by a "differential", one is free and moves steadily forward at the rate of the VPH, while the other carries wolf's teeth and moves in jerks â“ hence the jumping seconds.

- The new AP High Efficiency Direct-Impulse Escapement is proudly displayed on the dial side of the watch. The benefits of this new escapement are considerable:

*No need for lubrication on the pallet-stones.

*Detached single-beat escapement: A single impulse corresponds to two vibrations, thus decreasing disturbance to the rate and promoting extremely high efficiency.

*Direct impulse on the balance: The energy is transmitted directly from the escapement to the balance instead of via the lever, thereby reducing energy losses and increasing efficiency.

- High efficiency: In a movement equipped with a Swiss lever escapement, the latter absorbs 70% of the energy. The system developed by Audemars Piguet absorbs only 50%, representing a considerable gain in efficiency compared to a classic movement.

- Excellent shock-resistance: The meticulously developed shape of the various parts (especially the guard-pin) and their ultra precise machining guarantee optimal security against "tripping" and "over banking".

- Long-term stability: The tests conducted over the past five years have shown that this escapement displays excellent operational stability.

- Improved accuracy/chronometry: the isochronism of the sprung balance may be adjusted by shifting the locking-point in relation to the impulse provided by the balance; a reduction in mechanical disturbances to the balance improves the overall precision of the movement.

The hand-wound Audemars Piguet Calibre 2905 is an oval-shaped movement comprising 233 parts. It is derived from the Caliber 2899 movement housed in Cabinet N° 5 in the Tradition d’Excellence. In addition to its outstanding technical properties, epitomized by the Audemars Piguet escapement, it is also distinguished by the care lavished on the shape and finishing of its constituent parts. All components are entirely hand-finished in the noblest fine watchmaking traditions: beveling, rhodium-plating, and, depending on the part, côtes de Genčve and stippling. This concern for detail is reflected on the back of the watch. The sapphire crystal enables one to admire the twin barrels rotating within an extremely contemporary geometrical stage-setting featuring the ratchets and the jeweled bearings. A spectacular dance of suns, stars and satellites, against a backdrop adorned with horizontal côtes de Geneve. In harmony with the standards of fine watchmaking, the fastening screws with their points of attachment arranged in a triangular pattern are linked by a circle when their direction is reversed. To ensure the harmonious visual appeal of this arrangement, this three-point screw and circle layout is echoed in the center of the barrel, adorned with a radiating motif known as a sunburst effect.

The Audemars Piguet Millenary shows that even as venerated a classical watchmaking house as Audemars Piguet can break new ground with a unique and distinctive design. The Audemars Piguet Millenary departs from the traditional round case, instead offering an oval form inspired by the Roman Coliseum’s architecture.

Imagine if you will wearing a piece of technological wizardry on your wrist designed by some of the finest watchmakers in the world.

The Audemars Piguet Millenary Deadbeat Seconds & Escapement Grand Complication watch is a high luxury timepiece which has piqued a tremendous amount of excitement amongst connoisseurs and collectors.

No doubt - One of the most sought after Audemars Piguet watches ever released.

The Audemars Piguet brand offers watches of the highest quality matched with incredible style.

Owning a watch like this is a privilege afforded to very few collectors, since producing a watch like this requires a master to produce it.

This amazing special edition is one of only a handful of example timepieces from Audemars Piguet and is a very lucrative and hard to find timepiece.

We attached a few pictures of the actual watch. It is probably one of the coolest AP Limited Edition watches we ever had the privilege of owning. The watch is unbelievable in detail and structure from its front to its case back where you can see the way everything works. This watch features a true open-worked dial which allows the collector to visually see and appreciate the way this magnificent timepiece works when set into position. I have to say from one watch enthusiast to another, this is definitely a watch that is understated and yet is simultaneously extremely rare an exotic. Many watch companies do not have the ability to create a watch of this caliber where one can appreciate it's mechanical composition as well as its aesthetic perfection. I have to say I give this watch a 10 out of a 10, and assure you that you will be extremely happy with the detail that Audemars Piguet offers on this magnificent masterpiece.
