A divinely pretty art deco filigree gold vermeil and sterling silver 925 STAR brooch.
I love the warmth of the vermeil finish that was so fashionable in the later art deco period. Vermeil is a fine layer of solid gold applied to silver jewelry. It was popular from the deco period right up to the 1950s.
Looking at this piece right now I was thinking it would make the most gorgeous hair decoration for a wedding. Many brooches from the Victorian Era and earlier were used this way but this one would be just gorgeous in an updo for a special occasion.
