I enjoy bringing subjects to life with a bold use of colour and have developed my own distinctive style using acrylic paint on board, painting landscapes, wildlife, world events and occasionally including humour with a social commentary. I especially enjoy producing work which provokes a response from the viewer and love to experiment using contrasting colours. I aim to bring my paintings to life and inspire the viewer to connect emotionally and question the status quo. I admire the work of all artists but am particularly interested in the era of Pop Art and the work of Andy Warhol, especially his experimental use of colour and mass produced images based on popular culture and icons of his time. My paintings generally take 5/6 weeks to produce.
In 2017, I exhibited at the Buckland Art Gallery in the Cotswolds. In 2018, I exhibited and sold at the Liverpool Art Fair. I have also exhibited at the Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool, the Surface Gallery in Nottingham and the Met Quarter in Liverpool . My painting of the Beatles statue in Liverpool by the Albert Dock was on loan with the Aintree University Hospital. In 2020 as part of the Papergirl/Brooklyn Project in New York , I donated artwork to be given out free to Brooklyn residents as part of an art participation experience. In 2021 I developed my portfolio of Liverpool / Beatles themed paintings and have sold several since to loyal customers, see feedback below.
