Sawara has been used for the Idai since ancient times.

The reason is···
1. 1. Since the wood grain is fine and there is little shrinkage due to drying, it has excellent durability and the sword (tag) does not come off easily.
2. Since it is lighter than other lumber, it is light and easy to handle when used as a table.
3. 3. Since it contains a moderate amount of oil, it drains well and is strong around water. It is also strong against the acid of vinegared rice.
Four. The soft aroma peculiar to Kiso Spanish mackerel does not spoil the flavor of vinegared rice.



We carefully select lean lumber from the Kiso region.
Wood has a mature part called lean (core material) and an immature part called white lumber (sapwood).
Red meat has high water resistance and durability and high utility value, but since Shirota has a low maturity level, it has problems such as being soft and easy to grow mold.
It is important to note that many of the cheaper rice tables and ohitsu are made from this white sardine.


For tubs, the final surface treatment has always been a canna finish.

However, it takes time and effort, and the transfer of technology is not the same at present, so the number of products machine-finished with sandpaper is increasing.
