Important - this sample, S/N #016 - it will be the last one for sale until I can mod another V5 and it pass all test control @200MHz with 128Mb and 4xFSAA. 

I am selling my modded and special V5-5500 AGP aka V5-5800 Special Editon.  Why I call to my last modded card V5-5800 AGP, 3Dfx had plans to build a vsa100 based on v5-5500 but with 128Mb instead of 64Mb and it was called V5-5800 for such reason I used such name and Special Editon  because it is running 200MHz by default with a s/n on the post bios and I only will do a small batch of such Special Edition.

Note- VERY IMPORTANT - Not all V5-5500 AGP will be compatible with this mod. It depends from Card and revision. Also version PCI is less friendly to run 200MHz, chances to get it runing stable 200MHz is improvable. THANKS.

With this advanced V5 MOD to 200MHz core/mem plus enabling @128Mb memory size now is possible joint and mix both mods- before was not possible but I found the manner to do it

This V5 comes with 2 new VSA100 3r revision and to able to run over 200MHz, with 8 new tsop memory of 16Mb instead of 8Mb per chip and tunes up for reaching 200MHz mem speed (this mod needs to connect different PCB points since 3dfx did not route it on the pcb), also I added jumper for setting 'on fly' - before to power on the pc - for choosing between 64 or 128Mb, also a VMod for getting stable the card to 200MHz speed, 2 new and custom heatsink attached across screw - not more thermal glue - and finally a custom bios for the winner of auction, this custom bios as you can see in the picture will be personalized with Owner name and Nationality. This sample will be the vers. S/N#016.

Running V5-5800 @200MHz by default insted of @166MHz- you will get around a 25% extra performance in gneral games:
128Mb instead of 64Mb - It gives you much better quality image when 4xFSAA is enabled since there is not lack of memory texture, also you can play games request 64Mb per chip as Codename Panzer.

Some fast text under 3Dmark'99 test 64Mb texturing performance is amazing:
  • 64Mb - 5'7 AVG FPS
  • 128Mb - 77'20 AVG FPS

All my test are done under Win98SE using the lastest 3dfx reference driver since it is the best OS for 128Mb compatibility, under Win2k/XP you can find more issue since driver is not optimized for 128Mb, but you can use the 128Mb jumper for sets up card 64Mb.
