Premium Organic Potting Soil Mix

This custom blend combines Sphagnum peat moss (three parts) and Perlite (three parts), and Worm Castings (one part) all organic.  We’ve gotten excellent results with this custom mix.  It’s light, airy and provides the nutrition of worm castings.

Organic Sphagnum Peat Moss (3 parts of mix)

Product - Premier Sphagnum Peat Moss (OMRI listed)

Shipped dry - hydrate prior to use

Peat is a good, lightweight organic amendment that improves drainage, water retention, and air circulation.  It is low in nutrition (see Univ of Minnesota Extension, Hennepin County Master Gardners articles).

Organic Perlite (3 parts of mix)

Product - Termolita Hortiperi Perlite (OMRI listed)

Originates from Northern Mexico

Horticulture grade - used for:

drainage

provides air to roots

does not change soil ph

Worm Castings (1 part of mix)

Product – Worm Gold Plus (CDIA listed)

This a natural fertilizer that includes worm castings, kelp, and volcanic rock.  Won’t burn plants and promotes beneficial microbial activities.

Products are packaged in resealable quart or gallon sized plastic bags.  The standard measure for a quart is four cups, and a gallon is fourteen cups.  The actual amounts that fit in the shipped bags may be different.  Products shipped will be filled as much practicable.
