This shift rod coupler/adjuster combo is a must for any application where the shift rod is shortened or lengthened or the position of the shifter position in the car needs to be adjusted forward or back.  There is about 1.75 inches of thread for adjustment and the OD of the threaded sleeve is about 0.742 inch.  The sleeve welds on to the shifter shaft.  The combination of this adjuster with a late style shifter coupler allows exact adjustment of your shifter even if it is not perfectly level with the transaxle.
