A very fine original 19th century untitled etching of Thameside meadows with Marlow, Buckinghamshire beyond, as published in Hamerton's definitive work on the art form.

Edward Paxman Brandard (1818-98) was an English painter and engraver who produced a number of fine etchings and steel engraved views.

 He worked closely with J.M.W.Turner and engraved many of Turner's famous works.

He was also commissioned by Queen Victoria for a large format engraving of Balmoral Castle. 

Fine, clean condition, free of repairs or restoration, printed on robust heavy grade hand laid paper, blank verso. 

 Approx. 7.5" x 5.5" (190mm x 135mm) to the plate mark with good margins beyond.
