Amazon sword can reach up to 50cm or even more with leaves being 3-6 cm wide. It is best to use as a background plant. At least 10 cm deep substrate is advised so that the root system can spread properly. It needs to be planted about 5 cm to prevent it from floating back up. Echinodorus Bleheri is a heavy root feeder therefore it is advised to be vigilant when planting around other plants so it does not deprive them of nutrition. This easy plant doesn’t require extra CO2, although it will definitely be appreciated, and you will be amazed how quickly the new leaves grow. Very strong lighting is not necessary. If there is nutrient deficiency Amazon Sword quickly will show it. Leaves will start turning yellow, transparent. The holes on the leaves result from macronutrient deficiency. If you notice any of those signs you need to add root tabs.
